TO ALL THAT HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE
I want to thank everyone that in one way or another helped in fighting this terrible disease. The Produce industry started this campaign in the beginning 28 years ago with a great gentleman named Ian McMillan with the Overwaitea Food Group and have never looked back. From Bananas & Oranges we have expanded the awareness of Produce to Tomatoes, Nectarines, Mini Cucumbers, Peaches, Baby Carrots, Grapes, Kiwi Fruits etc.
From 500 runners to approximately 7,000 runners and participants this journey has been a success and it’s people like yourself, that have stepped up through the years.
This fight to stop Childhood Cancer is a goal that we are winning and if you can see the faces of the kids that bite into a Taylor Gold Pear or a Grape Tomato the reward worth the work.
From when we did bag stuffing at The Produce Terminal with volunteers ranging from 4 years to 80 years old, and from volunteers coming down at 7:00am to set up the tables of Produce and of course the generous contribution from you the suppliers have helped made this run what it is today.
Through the years I have asked for donation of Produce to help drive the event, and I’m proud to say I have never in 20 years been refused which is a testament of the commitment of our association to this charity.
Thank you again,
